I have one computer on our network (a Vista 64 machine if that matters) that has stopped backing itself up. I am now getting the warning, "DELL Backup Warning - DELL has not be successfully backed up since 1/10/09. ensure that DELL is turned on and connected to you (though I suppose that's supposed to be "your") network, or use "Backup Now" to back it up manually".
- The computer HAS been on on night all week. - The computer has been used everyday. - The computer has internet and network connectivity. - The computer can connect to the WHS console.
I've tried to run the "Backup Now", but it does not do anything. I get to the console, click on the DELL computer, click "backup now", but the backup never starts.
All the other computers (two Vista 32-bit machines and an XP Pro box) are still backing up just fine.
Reboot both the client and the server, run discovery.exe from C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server on the client and try a manual backup again. If this still fails: On the client check the event log for more detailed errors or warnings. Run chkdsk /f /r to the client volumes. Which version numbers are shown in the console (Settings/Resources)? Best greetings from Germany Olaf
