Where in the registry does XP store video settings? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Win XP Pro system that from day one cannot store it's video settings. I set the resolution to 1280x1024. It takes the setting without the little screen that asks if this is correct, press a button to tell it it's ok or it's going to revert to the original settings. The setting "takes" just fine, but if the machine is restarted it loses the video settings. The system has(had) onboard video. I disabled that and added a video card. No difference. Reload WinXP from scratch. No difference.

So, I am seeking to force the issue through the registry, if that is possible. Does anyone know where in the registry I need to go, or if there is a better way to do this?

    Thanks guys!
