How to customize the convert email to lead form RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

Is it possible to customize (add fields, remove fields) the out of the box "customize email to lead" form somehow? I don't seem to find an option in the customization section so maybe something can be done using development?

    Thanks for your advice

  • Hi,

The screen "convert e-mail to lead" screen sits outside CRM’s supported extensibility model.

Many a times these kind of forms fails to meet requirements. You might try some unsupported way of customizing your form so that you can change the fields, but it is highly not recommended.

The workaround is to create your own ribbon button (named convert email to lead). On click of that ribbon button you will call a JavaScript web resource. From this JavaScript you open a dialog. You can customize this dialog to include your choice of questions and prompts to the user. Then you can capture the responses and either through a plugin or through a custom workflow activity, convert it to lead.

I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.
