Office Enterprise 2007 Blocked VLK RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Dan,

I am having similar problems to DonnaMc about Office telling me it is not genuine, after working for some time - I thought it would be better to reply to this message rather than start a new post.

I followed the instructions laid out by Stephen Holmes in the sticky post: Please Run MGA Diagnostic Before Posting but have had no luck :(

    My details:
Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
Office Pro 2007 Win32 English Disk Kit Direct Not to US CD ONLN Office R (OEM Software)

Please see below for the pasted output from the MGA Diagnostic tool.

    Thanks in advance,
    Gordon.

  • Mathsboy,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 103 Blocked VLK
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 103 Blocked VLK
Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007 - 100 Genuine
Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007 - 100 Genuine
    OGA Version: Registered, 1.7.105.35
    Signed By: Microsoft

As you can see, Project and Visio are showing as Genuine :-) but Office Enterprise is showing as being installed with a Blocked Volume Licensing Key.

Blocked VLK means that the product key used to install license was a genuine product key originally issued to a business, educational, or government entity.  However, the key has been blocked from further use, and that could be for many reasons: it was leaked, lost, or stolen from the entity; the entity no longer has a valid VL agreement in effect with Microsoft; or Microsoft has noticed much more use of the key that the agreement allows for.

If your use of the key is in conjunction with a business, educational, or governmental entity, please contact your IT deaprtment for further information.

If you are an individual consumer and purchased this copy of Office Enterprise from a seller, then you should not have been sold Office Enterprise and should certainly not have been given this key by the seller.  Your options at this point include returning to the seller to demand the genuine Microsoft Office that you paid for; to return the software to the seller for a refund; or to participate in the Office Genuine Offer as described in the FAQ here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx#ID0EONAC

Hopefully the information provided can help you resolve the situation with a minimum of hassle and expense.

  • Thanks Dan for deciphering the mgadiag report!

I work for a small business using desk and laptops - I will check our licensing agreement and how many times this copy of office has been installed and get back to the post if that doesn't look like the cause of the problem.

    Thanks for your time,
    G.
