I'm seeing lots of spam on the forums:

the obvious question is can we use Image Verify or logic verify on the new thread page http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/newthread ?

Hi Sam,

These forums are often plagued by spammers. There's an antispam filter in place, but it doesn't always work as well as you'd hope. Using a CAPTCHA might help, but those are pretty easy to get around if you really want to. I've suggested that we should use a rate limit on the number of threads you can post in a given minute, but that hasn't gotten any traction either.

If you see a spam thread, use the 'Report as abuse' link under the post and submit it as a spam thread. We used to have dedicated threads to report these spam threads, but the reporting as abuse is the official method now:
