Data Layer in MSCRM RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wondering what you guys do with the early-bound objects generated by the crmsvcutil; whether you use them directly in your interface code or if you abstract the data access in a seperate layer?  It would be nice to bind my ASP.Net controls directly to the LinqDataSource as in the SDK walkthrough but isn't that considered bad practice to mix the interface code with the data access code?

  • Its up to you man. I generally create  utility Classes. These classes contain all the functions(DAL and BLL) . Then I call these functions from the interface(aspx. html, silverlight etc). I used to have separate projects for Data Access Layer and Business Logical Layer. I don't do that anymore. You can still create separate classes for BLL and DAL.

    I hope this helps.
