Downloading SAP Netweaver Developer Virtual Machine - Base image from Microsoft RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to get a virtual server running SAP Netweaver, there are a set of virtual disks available to do this, some from SAP which I have downloaded, and the base image from Microsoft for Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2, which is supposed to be available here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26808

The download links do not work for me (and several others I have asked), I always get a 404 error from the download server.

I have emailed vhdinfo@microsoft.com, which is listed in the article as the contact, with the details of my problem (about a week ago) and I have not heard any response.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get this resolved? I see no "report a bad link to webmaster" on the download page either.

  • Yeah, I chatted this morning, and received the same answer.

Then I called the Customer Service support number - the person there transferred me to the Windows Server support group. That person eventually figured out that I wasn't having a problem with an installation of Windows Server, but with this download, so she transferred me to the Presales Support group. That person eventually figured out what I was asking for, and then said he would transfer me to the Volume Licensing group - by this time I had been on the call for 35 minutes and couldn't stay any longer. So he gave me the number and I might try them tomorrow.
