Having problems activating my Windows XP RRS feed

  • I ran a virus removal program (MalwareBytes) and after I removed the files and reboot, the system is asking for me to input the product key to activate windows.  The product key attached to the laptop is faded and I'm not sure if accurate.  I ran a MS Genuine Diagnostic tool and the product key is different.

    Is there a way to get the correct product key so I can activate windows? The Diagnostic report is below.

Answers

  • According to your MGA Report, you have a Toshiba computer running Windows XP.  However, it appears this version of Windows XP was installed using a Dell Windows XP Reinstallation CD which is BIOS-locked to a Dell computer.  This license will never activate on a Toshiba computer.  You'll need to order the correct  Toshiba Recovery Media.
