Updating the new field for all products RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have added a new field to the product entity that contain the subject path for the subject field

for example if the subject tree si as follows:

    subject 1

    subject 1-1

    subject 1-2

    subject 2

    subject 2-1

    subject 2-2

and the subject field contains: subject 2-2

the customized field will contain: subject 2 \ subject 2-2

i have added the code to do this to the subject field onChange event and it works perfectly

so that when the user choose the subject the new field will be updated automatically

now i have an issue with old products that have been added before adding this customized field

is there anyay update the customized field for all old products without needing to open each one of them as i have around 400 records

    any help will be appreciated

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Regardless of what option you choose, the "OnChange" code will only fire if you open each record individually.  So, whether you use the Data Import , the Bulk Update tool, or something else , you'll need to rewrite the code to resolve the "path" for use with that utility.
