i have installed onecare and now i am unable to download e-mail from my pop3 account RRS feed

  • Question

  • my system was working just fine till i installed onecare. since installing i am unable to download e-mail from my pop3 account at cox cable. keep getting an err of 0X80042108. I have even turned off the firewall and tried to download e-mail but no luck. I have allowed the readmail.exe to run too but no luck. If i uninstall the onecare system runs as it should.

  • The most likely cause of this issue is having other security software installed. Uninstalling all other security software should resolve this issue.

  • that is what i thought but my wifes laptop has all the same security settings mine does and hers is working great. I would hate to loose symantic 10.2. there has got to be another way. i have even uninstalled and reinstalled three times. this is getting to make me mad. i think i'll just do with out it.

  • Having more than one antimalware application installed can cause conflicts, poor performance, or unexpected consequences. The best solution would be to uninstall Symantec or One Care.
