Unable to access WHS SHARED FOLDERS from Client PC RRS feed

  • Question

  • On one of the 3 PC I have connected to the home server I am unable to access folder on the server.

All CLIENT PC have Windows 7 Premium installed.

All Client Computers belong to the same home group

I can access thee server with no problem on the other computers.

On my Home Theater PC I am unable to add SHARED FOLDERS to the MEDIA CENTER.
I can access the server with Remote Desktop
I can access the server with WINDOW HOME SERVER CONSOLE
When I Go to Computer >>> NETWORK and click on the HOME SERVER

I get : WHS is not available. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this service to find out if  you have access permission.

The reference account is currently locked out and may not be logged onto.

When I right click here and select EXPAND I get the same response.

  • Disable Guest account. This is known as causing problems for accessing shared folders in several cases.
Do not use the network environment, but try instead the shortcut Shared folders on server which should be placed on your desktop during the installation of the Connector software.
What happens, if you try to access a share more directly via the search field in Start menu i.e. by entering \\yourservername\software?

Also validate, that the user account, which is logged in on the client, and the user account on the server have identical user names and passwords.
