Transfer Windows Xp to new Computer RRS feed

  • My computer is getting old and i want to get a new one, the one i'm looking at might not have windows installed, i just want to know can i move or install windows on the new one with the windows xp disk used in the old one and if i can how do i do that.

    If you have a Retail version of XP, it should be OK to do so.  You would want to install with the original install CD.  If you have an OEM version, then it is tied to only the hardware that it was originally installed on.
