  • Question

After speaking to Dell Assistant - who asked me to install "Go To Assist" so he could look around the computer (my problem was the recovery back up was full and an automatic message kept telling me it was full, but it would not let me create another one) my computer has made a bum bum sound as though something is trying to connect, even when I am not on the internet.

I deleted Go Assist through program removal and then I received a message saying Spybot search and destroy detected an important registry entry had been changed

    Category  Winlogon Notifiers

    Change: Value deleted

    Entry: GoToAssist

The option to deny change was greyed out and the only option I had was to allow change.  Probably wrongly I clicked it.

I have run sophos and spybot and there are not threats etc but the bum bum noise is still periodically happening.  I would be grateful for any advice that could be given as to what is causing the noise and whether I have mucked up my system by the "allowing change"
