error 0xc004d401 - windows server 2008

Question

Hello,
Earlier today I received the dreaded error 0xc004d401 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. I have read several other examples of this error, but have not been certain enough of what actually caused my particular instance of it to attempt anything other than investigative procedures.
I'm not sure if it is related, but I found this error in CBS.log for the first time about 40 minutes before the 0xC004D401 error occurred:
2013-07-19 12:51:50, Info CBS Could not load SrClient DLL from path: SrClient.dll. Continuing without system restore points.
I also see in Reliability Monitor that w3wp.exe has failed twice in the past two weeks, and that Windows update was run on 2013-06-27. I also see that MySQL Server 5.6 was installed on the 28th, along with IIS URL Rewrite Module 2 and a few hotfixes. I also see an entry stating that MicroSoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client failed to install on the 28th. Perhaps most foreboding however is the entry from 06-29 indicating that lsass.exe stopped working and that there was a disruptive shutdown that same day.
I was fortunate enough to have an RDP session up when the error first happened, so if there is any other information I can provide please let me know and I will do my best to gather it.
Thank you. Here is the MGADiag report:
