I've been using FolderShare and am now trying to switch so maybe I'm just not getting this. I want to sync the Documents folder on my Vista PC with the My Documents folder on my XP laptop. FolderShare allowed me to pick each folder and it kept them both synced. I can't figure out how to get Mesh to do the same thing. It always creates a Mesh folder called Documents on the XP laptop. Is there no way to simply have the files within Documents on one sync with My Documents on the other?
The same goes for pictures, videos, and music. But strangely enough the Favorites folder doesn't seem to have this problem. It didn't create a Mesh folder on the laptop and it still keeps everything synced. Help please!
The default is to create a new folder on the Desktop of the device that you indicate you wish to sync with. But you can go on that device and change the location of the folder, so you could change it from the Desktop to another location. What I'm not sure about is whether you can select a folder that already exists as the target, and not have it create a folder within that folder. Something to experiment with...

After you make a folder on device 1 as a Live Mesh folder, on other devices that you want to sync that folder to, you can point the Meshed folder to an existing one on the other device. You may need to resolve conflicts if that folder already has content that matches or sort of matches what was in the source folder. -steveMicrosoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare Forum Moderator
