Win2k VM performance issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

If anyone would like to take a quick look at the picture of the perfmon output attached, I would be grateful.

A little background - Windows 2k12 VM running a 3rd party ERP software becomes unusable pretty regularly.

The VM has 240GB RAM, 1x 250GB virtualized disk (from iSCSI SAN storage), and 16 Xeon CPUs.

I suspect the ERP software (basically a blackbox) maybe doing something in the back-end like a full table scan or running un-optimized queries but but I might be totally backing up the wrong tree.

I would like to know if there's anything obvious that jumps out from the perform outputs (2 separate 15mins capture during a normal period and a period when the performance tanked). I just made a spreadsheet of the counters with large differences in value during the 2 periods.

    Thanks!

    NB: Hypervisor is not Hyper-V.
