Keeping content on System drive strictly limited to "System" data and not overall Data RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have a 1TB system drive and 4 "1TB" drives in an external enclosure. I found that the system drive contains general data just like the other 4 drives however, I want to upgrade the motherboard and cpu on this WHS but I can't do so until I figure out how to move the general content from the system drive to the other drives.

There's about 23% used up on the system drive. I tried using the utility that creates a fake folder on drive D: and placed gigs of files on there. When I did that I also toggled folder duplication. That just left the system drive with 99% used up and when I deleted the fake folder content it went back down to 23% used.

Could someone please let me know how to just leave the system drive with system content so I can perform the upgrade?

  • What you want to do isn't possible. You can't exclude the system drive from the storage pool.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
