Auto Populate a New Field within all Accounts

Question
-
Hi,
I want to create a new field within accounts and have the same value entered in all of my current accounts. Is there a way to create a new field and have all accounts auto populated with the same value?
Thank you,

If you want to default your new field with a value you can:
create a workflow which updates the value of your field every time you create a new account or
create a JScript that defaults the value
create a plugin that does the same

If you want to update your existing accounts, besides workflow you can also use the bulk edit feature.
For a picklist attribute, the default value can be set at attribute level on the entity.

Thanks for the tips. I ended up doing the updates through workflow. The bulk edit did not have my custom field available for edit.Wednesday, July 18, 2012 8:53 PM
