Strange - unless you have had the machine repaired at some point?
You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment), using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.
You may need to activate by phone.

Your machine was manufactured in 2008 - a year before Windows 7 was released - but has a Product Key that is only valid for machines shipped from the factory with Win7 installed.
For which version and edition of Windows is the machine licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case?
Have you purchased any form of Upgrade for the OS?

The COA sticker on the case is for Windows 7 Home Premium.
No, I have not purchased any form of upgrade. This is the original O/S that came with the machine.

That worked. I've had this computer for years and not had a problem, so not sure why this happened all of a sudden. Thanks for the help.
