I reinstalled Vista from my gateway disk, and windows says its not valid!!! RRS feed

  • I reinstalled Vista from my Gateway CD, and all was well until Windows did all its updates.  Now I have the thing in the bottom rt corner that says this version isn't genuine. I ran the MGA diagnostic tool and this is what I got. Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0):

    The fact that the only error appears in the first line is interesting - I suggest that you first attempt manual validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate and see what happens - if you get a failure, please quote the EXACT error message you get, and post a new MGADiag report.
