email to case RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi so as per title i need to do this.

I got the code from a previous thread:

    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crmdevelopment/thread/20f241cf-28b1-4ab9-8fb8-b282705979b6

However where would i shove this code? For example when you track an e-mail and use the button "Convert email to Case" how would i find this event and how it processes? I checked the customization and no editable forms seem to show for this? Is this another case where i have to run a custom report to even see these forms/events? I "could" create a workflow but then that is just as much clicking if not more and i want to try to utilize what is currently functioning instead.

I am confused as to how i would access this.

Thanks in advance and if any extra info or perhaps screenshots are needed please let me know, thanks.

  • Hey,

Sorry for long reply i went on holidays.

This will not work for me, although it provides the functionality that would be needed on an bulk process this will not work on an individual basis(i have not tried it because if it solves the problem... i will still have it in the end)

THis basically checks all incoming e-mails hitting a queue and does the process to add it as a case... but what if an e-mail does not hit the specified queue but still needs to be added? Back to the original problem.

Does anyone know how to get to the actually process when an e-mail is converted so i can add "attach the body to the 'description field' " ?

    Thanks...

  • For functionality email to case you can use ready tool which you can find on codeplex (it is for free).
