How to view shared directories in a win98 machine from a winxp ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • i am able to view the shared files from the win98 machine to winxp, but the other way round dont work.
Other win2000 or winxp machines can still view the files that are there in my winxp machine.
so i guess there is no issue about the firewal... is there any such bug ? or any imcompatibality issue faced by anyone ?

  • When you set up the network (LAN settings ) on the windows XP machine, it asks you to create a "Network Setup Disk" , this disk has to be run on every win98 system, to make it access the files on the winxp system.
try this and, Tell me if this helps..
