CRM Outlook Addin Tracking Forwarded Emails RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I have the following scenario, using Office 365 and CRM 2011 online with the Outlook client installed. Two users both in the same Exchange and CRM.

    1. User1 sends an email to User2. Both have auto-tracking disabled.
    2. User2 tracks the email when it has been received in their inbox.
    3. User2 then forwards the message to User1 (or replies) with some extra text in it

    The result of this is this is that:

    1. The original email is tracked and appears as an activity in CRM.
    2. The forwarded (or reply) email is also tracked and also appears in CRM with the amended body.

    What I don't get is why the forwarded email is tracked, surely this is wrong? What if the forwarded email contained sensitive information? Surely it shouldn't track anything unless you have auto-tracking enabled or do it manually?

    I'm going to also test a 3 user scenario where user2 forwards to a different user as this would be even more worrying.

    Has anyone else noticed this?
