Error when attempting to run custom reports (reports made with Report Wizard) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am unable to successfully run any report I make with the Report Wizard.

In the first attempt none of the user accounts dedicated to CRM services have SPNs.

    Attempt 1 results:

CRM reports the following error in IE: ["Reporting Error", "The report cannot be displayed. (rsProcessingAborted)"]

CRM generates the following event: ["Report render failure. Error: An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)."]

CRM reports the following error in the trace file: ["There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/CrmSandboxHost that could accept the message."]

In my second attempt I set the SPN for the user account dedicate to the CRM Sandbox service: HTTP/<computer_running_crm> <domain>\<sandbox_account>

    Attempt 2 results:

CRM reports the following error in IE: ["Reporting Error", "The report cannot be displayed. (rsProcessingAborted)"]

CRM generates the following event: ["Report render failure. Error: An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)."]

CRM reports the following error in the trace file: ["Authentication failed on the remote side..."]

  • Hi

You need to have Reporting Extensions installed on the Reporting Server. For more details on installing Reporting Extensions, please see this link: http://xrmadventures.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/crm-2011-reporting-extension-installation-with-pre-created-ad-groups/

    Thanks and regards

  • so what went wrong with your CRM server installation?  Did you see any error messages?  Is there anything unique about your CRM environment?

    Regards, Donna

  • The server has been installed for some time. No problems.

There is nothing special about my environment. I have a CRM server machine, an SQL server machine, and a domain controller/DNS server machine.

  • Was getting that error because I did not restart the server. Now back to square 1.

  • The message in the CRM trace file has changed to ["There was an error writing to the pipe: Unrecognized error 232 (0xe8)."]

  • I will assume that the original question has been answered and will begin a new thread for this new problem.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

I am getting the same error for the reports created using the Report Wizard (it is an on premise CRM 2011 installation).

    I have Reporting Extensions installed.

What was the solution for this issue?

    Thank you.

  • Not sure. I haven't gone back to it since this post.

I will need to confirm, but there is a good chance the problem was because my clocks were out of sync. This has caused a lot of problems for me. All your computers (including your web client) should be sync'd (no more than 5 min apart).

  • I get this error even when I remote to the server and run the custom report there. Still waiting for the solution :-( Thank you.

  • Can someone from Microsoft respond to this question and provide a solution? The customer is waiting for the solution.

Why is this question marked as "Answered"?

  • Hi,

If you have a customer waiting for assistance, then you should probably have the customer or you on the customer's behalf open a support ticket.  Microsoft support staff does not have a committment to monitor or respond to inquiries in this forum.

You could also consider asking your question in the Partner forum if you have access.  Microsoft staff monitors that forum.
