QuickFind Search Not Responding i.e. not doing anything RRS feed

  • I'm have:

    • Dynamics CRM 2011
    • On Premise
    • Rollup 18
    • IE 11 and Windows 7

    And suddenly today many users (but not all) are having the following symptoms:

    • Go to the "home page"
    • select an entity
    • Go to the Quick Find field
    • type in something
    • hit the Enter Key or mouse-click on the magnifying glass
    • And nothing happens?  The results are not filtered by what you typed...

    In my testing I do not get the same behaviour in Firefox or Chrome, but IE 11 is our enterprise-wide standard browser and I have 100 users on it...

    Any clues?


    Edit:  I've restarted IIS and restarted my front-end application server... but no improvement.

    Edit2:  When I open the F12 Developer tools, and reproduce the error I see the following error messages in the console: 

    • SCRIPT5009: 'LOCID_SHOW_WEEK_CAL_WIDTH' is undefined File: date.js, Line: 1, Column: 589 - on load of the "home page"
    • SCRIPT5009: 'LOCID_SEARCH_LIST_NOT_OPEN' is undefined when I try to perform a search

    Any ideas?

    Edit3:  Last night our IT guys pushed out a bunch of updates and all the users desktops were rebooted and voila! now everything is working fine.

    Unfortunately we still don’t know what caused the problem…    I'll update this if I discover anymore information...
