win server client computer backup service won't start RRS feed

  • my win server client computer backup service stopped after today's system updates were installed.   so, I uninstalled all of today's system updates and it still won't start. 

    Any ideas?

  • No problems with my systems! Try running Chkdsk on your disks and restart your Server.

  • Sometimes it seems to happen especially after patch days, that the one or other service is not launched, maybe due to timing issues. Usually rebooting the server should solve this situation.

    Other than that, checking the backup database for corruption and the disk holding the backups for NTFS errors would be the way to go.

    When the Windows Server Client Computer Backup Service stopped, did you attempt to restart it again in Services panel? Did you get any error message when restart?

    Please open Event Viewer and check if find more clues.
