Win XP Activation Problem

After working OK for a couple of years, the pre-installed XP (Home) on a Sony Viao started asking for activation. There was a delay, the 30 days slipped by, and now I cannot log-in past the activation message.

I can get into Safe Mode, I don't have an XP installation disk for this system, I have the product key from the COA sticker on the back of the unit, and I have a retail XP (Home) disk that I'm planning to use to upgrade another machine.

In which forum should this issue be posted?
