I just purchased an Acer desktop with the 64 bit version of Windows 7. Unfortunately, I wasn't tech savvy enough to know that this was such new technology that it would end up creating compatibility issues with my existing equipment. I have a Canon copier that ran beautifully with my previous HP desktop with Windows XP. Unfortunatley, Canon doesn't have any drivers out for the unit to run with 64 bit Windows 7. I was able to find a driver for this machine (Canon Imagerunner 1370f) thru my local Canon tech specialist who emailed me a link from Canon's European division. I installed the driver but it wouldn't work since it too was designed only for 32 bit machine. I love the copier, and frankly it 's worth more then my new pc. I am currently getting around the issue by using my laptop with XP to print copies from the internet as I need them. However, I would love to get my new 64 bit Acer with Windows 7 to communicate with the copier. Any recommendations on how to resolve my issue will be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks WJT
We can't help you, this is the Windows Live Writer forum...
BUT..
I understand your pain. As I understand it Canon has been less than progressive on their development of 64-bit drivers and what I hear are not expected to release any 64-bit drivers until 3rd quarter this year.
This doesn't help you, but I thought I’d offer this as an informative...
Later, Larry
