Windows Live Sync "cannot be removed" (and cannot be re-installed) RRS feed

    Problem: Computer freezes up and won't respond overnight -- has to be re-booted to run. Took it to a tech service, who said the problem was a corruption in Windows Live -- but they were unable to uninstall/re-install to remedy the problem! I tried uninstalling Windows Live programs on my own thru Control Panel, to no avail (the uninstall command did nothing), so I tried re-installing without uninstalling. The overnight freeze problem remains -- and when trying to install other Windows Live programs like Photo Gallery, I  get an error message saying: Windows Live Sync cannot load because an older version of Live Sync cannot be removed.  It  says there is a conflict with "hr:0X080070643".  How can I fix this??
