Windows Certification Kit failure

    Question

  • We have developed a simple Desktop application. Consider:

    1) Create C# WindowsForms aplication

    2) Create SetupProject using MSVS Installer Project (https://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/9abe329c-9bba-44a1-be59-0fbf6151054d)

    3) Configure SetupProject with appropriate values, targetplatform = x86

    4) Build

While testing using the Windows Certification Kit 3.4 in Windows 8.1 x64 machine, it shows one failure -

FAILURE: Write appropriate Add/Remove Program values

    • An optional value 'VersionMajor' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • An optional value 'VersionMinor' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • An optional value 'MajorVersion' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • An optional value 'MinorVersion' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • A non-optional value 'DisplayName' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • A non-optional value 'Publisher' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • A non-optional value 'ProductVersion' is missing or invalid for program My Application.
    • An optional value 'InstallLocation' is missing or invalid for program My Application.

All the non-optional values are set and we can see that in the registry under the Uninstall folder.

Also. While testing using the Windows Certification Kit 3.4 in Windows 8.1 x86 machine, it pass!

We could not find an appropriate solution for this.

    Any help would be appreciated.
