Remove Trojan:Win32/Aegrus RRS feed

  • Question

  •

This virus showed up on my screen today with a OneCare scan. The quarintine fails, and I can't find much of any information for it on google, microsoft, or in these forums. The spy hunter program said it will remove it but thats $30, which means that OneCare is useless.

I can't find where the virus is located because OneCare doesn't show where and if I click on the name it pulls up OneCare help.

Any information on the removal of this virus would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • It's in an email attachment, most likely.

    Steve,

Thanks for the help, I had read that sticky but I don't think this is my problem.

The only e-mail I use is the University and I use it on there program which to my knowledge doesn't store e-mail on my computer but on the university servers. please let me know if this in inaccurate.

I don't have outlook or anything like that setup on the pc.

    Thanks,

  • If there is no email store on the PC, then it could be an infection in a restore point. The only way to find out is to create the support log report. Open OneCare, change settings, logging tab, create support log. Scroll down to the antivirus section to see the infections found, status and location.
