    Will current subscriptions of One Care be canceled or transfered over to Security Essentials?

    Neither, they are totally separate products.

    OneCare subscriptions are valid through the end of the subscription or until the end of 2010, whichever somes first.

    Microsoft Security Essentials is a free anti-malware only product which became available on September 29th.  You can install and use it at any time you wish.

    Adding to Rob's reply, OneCare subscribers will receive information at the end of their subscription period about switching to MSE.
