Help Recover Sync 2.1 Deleted Files~~!!

    Question

  • Hi there,

My problem is slightly user error.

I normally sync from a > b for example in 'Echo' mode.

a: is my internal HDD and I offload photos onto this drive

so then b: is my external backup copy of these files.

    BUT

I was out and about and needed to offload a memory card and did so to my External.

Then when I Synced a > b, obviously it recognised these extra files as 'Delete' actions

    and did so?

How can I go about getting them back.

More to the point I am looking for a detailed log of what these files were?

I have found the Synctoy log, but it is pretty useless in terms of sharing much info apart from run time.

Not I Sync in 'Contribute' mode, but this doesn't help me get the 66 files back.

Hmmmmmmmmm if only I knew what they were/their file names

Thanks in Advance for any freeware recovery tools that may help.

Recuva by Piriform only helps if you know what you're looking for,

and you can't select a folder for it to search in, just sectors of a HDD I think.

  • so synctoy deleted 66 files from my external hdd thinking they were files deleted from my internal

    and actions to be made

I know what folder but not what sub folder,

and most scans will show up too much stuff to figure it out.

any one know how to find a synctoy log which tells you what it has done?

or know of a good image recovery program which can set the date of deletion or location
