Any supporting documents that Edge Server must need to use 2 Nic and 2 subnets in DMZ?

Dear all,

During the OCS Edge Server Implementation, our client networking/firewall/secuirty team refused to provide two Nic and 2 subnets without any supporting documents. They ask if use 2 nics 1 subnet, any OCS Edge services/functions cannot be run?..

I have tried check the links below:

I found the above do not provide any clear info. do you have any supporting documents?

What specifically is not clear in the latter article? Is there a specific section you feel requires more expansion?

Take a look at Microsoft's official document entitled "Designing Your Perimeter Network for Office Communications Server 2007 White Paper"

Basically you can tell the networking team that the 2 interfaces are connected to the same IP subnetwork it will be a completely unsupported deployment that may either not function at all, or you may be able to get external login working, but won't be able to use external A/V Communications.
