When to prefer JIT over AOT in .NET? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there some cases regard to .NET where JIT can be recommended over AOT?

My idea is that the smaller app is the better is to choose AOT in .NET because main JIT advantage is in saving memory pages (not whole compiled app is located in memory) and JIT runtime optimalizations have minor consequence to performance.

    Is it true?

What is recommended practice in using .NET compilers?

Is there some guide to cases when to prefer JIT over AOT in .NET and vice versa?

    Thank you.
