The opportunity product entity has an ispriceoverridden attribute that should control this, but it is not displayed on the form by default. I'd try adding this attribute to the form to see if it works

Check out the product catalog area under Settings. The product pricing define how the opportunity products are calculated.

for opportunity products, I believe you need to use the discount field. You should see that field on the Opportunity Product form when you add an Opportunity to the form.Tuesday, October 7, 2008 3:40 PM

is there a way to change the price and not the discount field?

You need to add a new product to the catalog with the price you want or change the price in the product catalogSunday, October 12, 2008 12:05 PM

Hi,
I really dont think that it will be possible in MS CRM.
You can create Quotes->Orders etc and change the price of the product. By this, you will be changing the Product Price only for that opportunity/quote/order and not in the Product Master.
Hope it served your purpose. Shall keep you posted with latest updates.
