    What do you mean ?
There isn't any Home Server 2008, maybe you mean Windows Home Server version 1.
Or do you mean Windows Server 2008 ?
If you mean windows Server 2008 you can take a look at this link,

Since Vail is based on Windows Server 2008 it might be possible, but I'm not so sure about that.

  • Ok.

Just thought it might work since turning Windows Server 2008 into a workstation would work....

  • How does this question differ from your previous one?

"Haven't studied this new Home Server yet, but what Ive seen it look very different from the previous one.

At first glimse, it looks just like a ordinary OS - true? I mean it has control panel, deviice and priner, network and such....

I know from previos version that it was not recommende to run it as a ordinary OS.

I also know that connecting extra disk, ment it had to be formatted and such.

My question is - is it recommended to run this server as a ordinary OS - or leave it alone and just use it as backup and such?"

I seriously doubt that. Maybe you mean Windows Server 2008?

Probably not, but if you want to try it, go for it and report back to us. Oh, and if you use it as a workstation, don't file any bugs. And be sure to back everything up in case of a crash. :)
