Does windows home server support wireless pci cards? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey guys, I brought myself an old pc of ebay a while back, 2.8ghz xeon, 2gb ram.

I've orderd myself a new 640gb sata hdd with a raid pc card as the computers mobo only supports ide.

However my question is I have an Edimax EW-7128G wireless pci card, and I would like to know if whs would support it.

I'm only using this as a media streaming/pc backups.

    Thanks, VisTa.

  • Connecting your server to your network using a wireless card isn't supported. While you can install the card and configure it, in some cases, you won't be able to get it to connect reliably, and in others, you'll find that network performance to/from your server will be very poor.

You should use a wired connection to your network for your server.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
