  • Question

  • I currently recieved a older laptop from a freind, and i reinstalled XP for a clean fresh OS. The friend said she never recieved any OS recovery disks from the place she bought it from, so I went with the reinstall thinking I would use one of the discs I have and use the authentication key on the sticker thats on the bottom of the laptop.

Come to find out that there was probably recovery on the harddrive itself and was supposed to make my own cd's. When i reinstalled the OS, I wiped the "recovery tool."

Im wondering how I go about getting my windows authenticated.

    Thank you,

    Jason,

Please contact Technical Support for the laptop manufacture. Open a service ticket and request the re-installation recovery software. There may be a small fee involved but all this will be explained by the company. Hope this solution will provide help. Also if your in the market for updated operating software and/or other products visit Microsoft Marketplace @  http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/ .  Take care and hope you have a wonderful weekend.
