How to Import UK MS Money 2003 (UK version 11) to Sunset RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been running the UK version of MS Money 2003 (version code 11) on my Vista Home PC for a number of years and have a significant amount of data stored within the program (file extension shows as .mny).

I have had to replace my Vista PC with a Windows 7 (64 bit) laptop. I understand that Money 2003 will not operate on Windows 7.

Could you please advise how I can convert/import my UK Money 2003 data in to the new version of Money Plus Sunset that I have downloaded from the US MS Support website and installed on my Windows 7 laptop.

    Thanks

  • Money 2003 should work on both 32 and 64-bit Windows 7.

You can download and install Money 2005 UK - QFE2 (the fixed self-contained UK Money 2005 file) from  http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26915. This will import and update your Money 2003 data file and is free for anyone to use.

To transfer to Sunset you would need to export your data as loose qif and import it to Sunset. A transfer to Sunset would be of no benefit to a UK user of Money.

  • Hi Dominic

Have removed Sunset, installed Money 2005 per your link, imported data from Money 2003 - works like a dream, thank you so much.

    Regards & best wishes

  • Hello Martin - I am using Windows 7 64bit on my DELL E6400 machine and Money 2003 w/o any problems. Like you, I have data from 1999 and file is now 20MB but I face no issue at all. So ideally MOney 2003 is fully working on Windows 64bit machines.
