disable welcome screen? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are you able to disable the welcome screen?

If you disable the welcome screen and have only 1 account, will the system auto log into the user account? How do you log into windows as administrator? Do you allow the auto login and logout? CTRL ALT DEL 2x?

    thanks in advance

  • change the autologon account to the admin account.

By the way, to get welcome screen in a autologon situation, you can press right shift after log off.

for "If you disable the welcome screen and have only 1 account, will the system auto log into the user account? ", yes it will if you have enable the autologon for the user account.

For how to enable autologon for a user account, see: How To Enable Automatic Logon in Windows http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310584/
    ----------
    for the pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice?

The Windows Welcome screen lists all user account names residing on that computer.if you select this option[Remove the dministrator user name from the Welcome screen (requires pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice to log on to accounts not listed)] in steadystate>set computer restriction, you remove the Administrator user name from the list on this screen. To log on as Administrator, you must press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice to bring up the traditional logon screen.
