Error When Attempting to view TechNet Profile RRS feed

  • Question

  • I get the following error When attempting to view TechNet Profile. I'm logged in directly to Microsoft so no "site admin" involved.  I've tried Chrome and FireFox with the same results.

    I appreciate the help

  • Same problem on Mac with Safari, and Linux with Chrome.

Trying to figure out why this profile has problems commenting or updating content on this page.  https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/17105.system-center-dpm-2012-r2-2016-and-2019-compatible-tape-libraries.aspx

  • I'd first try to eliminate some things. The simplest would be to try from another windows pc using Edge browser.

I don't have any problem signing in at this link to where I could edit the article.

  • I was also able to edit the Wiki article, but I canceled my edit. I am using Edge on Windows 10.

  • Thanks Dave,  sorry for the delay. I had to get an older Window 10 machine updated. The result is exactly the same, using edge. I can't view the I_Bill settings or edit that web page.

    Thanks again...

  • Are you asking about the profile you're posting with or something else?

  • Your profile shows 20 edits of Wiki articles in the past (the last one 2 years ago).

  • I'm referring to I_BillB "Settings" where you setup your preferences.   I guess "profile" may not be an accurate term.   But when i select "Settings"  I get that error message posted at the top of string.

  • Hi Richard,   I've uses this account to contribute to that page for a number of years.  I'm now having difficulty "editing" it so trying a number of things to identify the problem including, scrub the browser cache, clean up Window and  Web Credentials,  different browsers Chrome and FireFox, computers, OS, and most recently MS Edge. ...  all with same issues.

    thanks for your assistance.

  • I think Dave's links for microsoft account support chat or email is the best bet. It seems you have lost the ability to signin.

  • Hi Richard,

I have looked at that site and none of the scenarios described address my issue.    I can sign in with my MS account and navigate everywhere with exception of contributing to https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/17105.system-center-dpm-2012-r2-2016-and-2019-compatible-tape-libraries.aspx

Assuming "I_BillB is toast...  I created a new Identity: BillB_datastore, from a new MS account.   This identity allows me to access "settings" which i couldn't do before, and move around the page however, I does not present the Pencil or Edit functions.  How would i go about adding edit capability to this Identity?

    Thanks Again.

  • This is helpful.... thanks.   I logged in with my new identity "BillB_datastore and requested verification.  If I figure out the issue with my original identity, I'll update this thread.
