How to Print A Thread? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do I print a thread on MSDN?

    I do not see a 'printer ready' button on the thread, like many other web pages have.

    When I click the 'printer icon' in IE, to print, I have two problems:

    1. The print font is too small to read.
    2. The 'side frames' and 'top frames' print, so I get too much extra/unrelated information.

  • Yes, often reported issue and request for a print friendly page. I do not have schedule for this but has been asked for often. Thanks

  • This is how I do it in IE8

    * I select the posts I want to print. I usually have better control of what I want to select if I select the last post first and work my way up. This way, I don't click on avatars or user names.

    * I click Print Preview.

    * I use "As selected on screen" instead of "As laid out on screen".

    * I use "100%" instead of "Shrink To Fit".

    * Then I print.

    It's not the easiest way to do it, but it works for me.
