new, confused and can't find products RRS feed

  • Hi all

    I am new and currently evaluating the CRM for work. I've taken the time to install the sever and client on separate VPCs but when I goto my server (http://crmserver:5555) I can't find anywhere to create a product or catalogue.

    I click both "settings" links on the left pane and am taken to the "Which feature would you like to work with" but all I see are
    • Business Unit Settings
    • Templates
    • Subjects
    • Relationship Roles
    • Org Settings
    • Sales Territories
    • Announcements
    • Sites
    • Business closures
    I can't help but think "Products" is meant to be in this list, is this a permission thing? I log on as a user who is a System Administrator and System Customizer.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

  • David is right, go to Settings -> Product Catalog

  • The most likely cause is that your user has Restricted Access Mode enabled. Go to Business Unit Settings, Users, open the user and uncheck Restricted Access Mode . Save and Close, then cose and reopen the CRM browser window
