attempting to install Features on Server 2008 invalidates Activation

Question
-
Hi - I'm using a volume licensing version of Server 2008 32-bit at UW-Madison. Initially, I installed the 32-bit Enterprise version. I was able to activate successfully & install Desktop Experience & Power Shell Features successfully. I decided to try 64-bit version to check out Hyper-V. This moved the 32-bit version into C:\Windows.Old. I was able to activate & install Hyper-V successfully. But the 64-bit version ran horribly on my system, so I followed KB article 933168 to boot to System Recovery Command Prompt & revert to the 32-bit version. This worked fine, so I re-rebooted back to System Recovery Command Prompt, told it to not add an entry to the boot menu for the 64-bit version, then I deleted all of the folders I saved from the 64-bit version. I have what appears to be a working, activated 32-bit Enterprise Server 2008 now. When I go to microsoft.com/genuine, it validates successfully.
But when I try to add the Telnet Client Feature, it gets almost all of the way to the end of the progress bar, then I get a counterfeit warning. If I go to microsoft.com/genuine now, it says it can't validate. I reboot my system and when logging in, the first thing I get is a window saying Windows was successfully Activated. I can go back to microsoft.com/genuine now & it validates successfully again.
But every time I try to install this Feature, and presumably any other Feature, it invalidates my copy of Windows and doesn't re-activate until I reboot. Any ideas on how to fix this??
thanks,

With the help of Greg from the CSS team, this was the fix for my Volume Licensed 2008 activation issue:
Open a command prompt with administrative privileges and type the following commands:
1) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
2) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
3) Type: ren tokens.dat tokens.bar
4) Type: cd %windir%\system32
5) Type: net start slsvc
6) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
7) Reboot the machine & logon
8) Re-enter Product Key when prompted (found in sources\inf\setup.cfg file on the 2008 DVD, at the bottom of the file)
9) Windows re-connects with your KMS server & re-activates
10) Reboot one more time for good measure

Hi Shaun,
This forum is usually for comsumer level WGA support, but I contacted the group that supports the Server side and they first want to see if the issue can be easily resolved on the forums. If not I will get you connected directly with that group.
They have asked that if you would run a Diagnostic Report before and after the issue occurs.
To generate a Dioagnostic Report, download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button, then paste the report(s) into this thread.
Thank you,

Hi again Shaun,
Would you also create a Service Request at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52029 and then post the Confirmation Number in this thread.
Importent: When creating the Service Request, please make sure you include a phone number that you can be reached at.
Thanks,

Hi Shaun,
I have passed on the information, but they have not told me if/when they expect to contact you. So, if you haven't heard something by late Tuesday/early Wednesday, let me know and I will start lighting some fires under people.
