Visual Studio Installer No Products RRS feed

  • Question

  • I open the vs community installer and nothing happens.
I opened vs_installershell.exe from the installation folder and it says no product available, then i tried with vs_installer.exe and it says that vs_installershell.exe has an invalid certificate.
So, I can't install visual studio community, how to fix this problem?
Anyway, sorry for the English. :(

  • Hi Viins_,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

Which version of visual Studio Community do you want to install? What’s your Windows System?

According to your description, please make sure that your Windows is up to date and reboot your machine. Notice that turn off any anti-virus software and clean your %temp% folder before installation. Then, please try to run vs_installershell.exe as administrator under the path C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer.

If it doesn’t work, I suppose your VS installer package is corrupted, please delete your Visual Studio Installer in Control Panel > Uninstall a program > search “Microsoft Visual Studio Installer” > right-click and uninstall it. Then, please re-download and install Visual Studio installer from here.

Hope it helps and any feedback will be expected.

    Best Regards,

    Anna

  • Hi Anna,
I cleaned up my temp folder, but it hasn't worked.
In Control Panel > Uninstall a program, there isn't "Microsoft Visual Studio Installer". :(

    Edit: Windows 7 SP1 :)

  • Hi Viins_,

I'm afraid you need to provide version of Visual Studio, and an exact file name you downloaded.

  • Hi Viins_,

Thank you for providing URL and file name.
But I cannot read Italian. So, I'd like to show URL (en-US).
    https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/

    Please re-download an installer (vs_community__1177886282.1586477440.exe).

    [note]
You can add languages after installing VS 2019 with Visual Studio Installer (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\vs_installer.exe), and use Italian for displaying language.

    Regards,

    Ashidacchi -- http://hokusosha.com

  • Hi Viins_,

    Thanks for your feedback.

It is strange that “Microsoft Visual Studio Installer” can’t be found in your Control Panel. Can you find the folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer)? If you cannot run the vs_installershell.exe as administrator, please manually delete the folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer.

Could you please have a try with the suggestion of Ashidacchi? If this issue persists, I need your help to share us your installation logs. Please download and run this collect.exe tool, go to %temp% folder and find the vslogs.zip file, upload it to https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link in here.

    Any feedback will be expected.

    Best Regards,

    Anna

  • Hi Viins_,

    I don't know it's good or bad...
Microsoft seems to change URL automatically according to our language (our browser's language). If your language in your browser is Italian, URL which you open automatically will lead to Italian URL.

    Have you installed vs_community__1247715622.1583664886 ?
How is your issue after installing it?
I hope you could install Visual Studio.

  • Hii Ashidacchi,

I cleaned up my Temp folder, turned off my antivirus, deleted C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer, I can't uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio Installer because it isn't in Control Panel.
Then, I have installed again vs_community__1247715622.1583664886 but I have the same problems, I can't see any workload to download, vs_installershell.exe says "Nessun prodotto disponibile" (No products are available), vs_installer.exe says "VS_InstallerShell.exe has an invalid certificate. Please ensure the appropiate Microsoft certificates are installed".

    Here's my vslog.zip: https://1drv.ms/u/s!An8o0dKd1j4MaVsqGPcOYB3Pzcg?e=vqpYqhG

  • Hi Viins_,

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for my delay reply.

After checking the logs you provided, I found the following error message in WindowsUpdate.log:

WARNING: WU client fails CClientCallRecorder::RemoveService with error 0x80248014

As I know, the error message is usually caused by your Windows Update. Please check your system driver and make sure it is up to date. Then, you could refer to the guide to perform a clean boot and try again. BTW, when installing the Visual Studio via web-installer, a stable internet connection is required.

If this issue persists, I am afraid you need to report it to the Windows Community and firstly achieve this Windows issue. If you have any more Visual Studio Setup and installation issue in the future, please feel free to let us know and we are willing to help you further.

    Hoping everything goes well.

    Sincerely,

    Anna
