Black Edit Screen. I can't see what I write!

    Question

  • I just installed live writer and was very excited to use it. But I can't see what I write! The edit window is completely black except for a white outlined rectangle at the top of the editor and the text symbol flashing. The GUI is all there. How do I get the edit screen to look like my blog? or at least get it white so I can see what I am writing?

I am using Win 7 and build 14.0.8089.726

    Thank you.

  • It sounds like you theme is a dark color background with a dark color text.  Try under the View menu to uncheck Edit using theme and see if the problem goes away.  If not, what does your theme look like and maybe we can figure out what your issue is?

  • Windows Live Writer doesn't always detect or refresh the themes correctly, but you might want to try a free utility to try to adjust or FIX the theme in Windows Live Writer.

The utility can be found here:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/brandonturner/archive/2009/08/16/broken-theme-in-windows-live-writer-you-can-fix-it.aspx

Read through the instructions, you use it correctly and you just might not have an issue soon.

    Hope this helps.
