BTW, I found it in 1 second in Google using these keywords: "TechNet Wiki how to become moderator" as I knew there was an article on this topic.

There is an interesting part in that article: When you become a moderator: Once you are a Moderator and experienced in the Forums, you might want to look at becoming an MCC (and continue down the path toward becoming an MVP).
A few days ago, i noticed in my email that i receive the MCC badge, this can help me to become a moderator? I see there only the inverse, becoming a moderator can help you won the MCC.

Since MCC now became automatic, I think this part of the article is a bit outdated and should be formulated differently - If you're an MCC or MVP, it may help to build your case of becoming a moderator.
Ed, what do you think about such correction?
BTW, since I read this article I made a typo fix in English and Russian versions.

Hi Ed
I'm not trying to hi jack this thread, but could you please give an update on what's going on with this list: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13037.answerermoderator-requests-on-technet-and-msdn-forums.aspx ?
i've been on top of the SharePoint answerer/moderator request list for over 3 months now, and still haven't heard anything even though I have requested an update several times in this thread . In the meantime I have also got the MCC award. And what about the new SharePoint forums, do we have to send new moderator requests for those ?

Bjoern - No update. This is something I do on the side, and I haven't gotten to it yet. My priority is my job responsibilities. I'm sorry there isn't a better system. But that's also why I do this, because there isn't any system in place for this process.
Thanks!
