Missing Drivers on Install - Fixed/Improved by RTM? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here is a list of the hardware that was missing drivers on install:

    • Promise RAID FastTrak100 TX2 - Found driver on Promise Site
    • D-Link DGE-530T NIC - Found driver on D-link site
    • Radeon 9800 Pro - no driver found

Granted, I understand that most WHS will probably be purchased new to take advantage of new form factor and technologies that are more suitable for a server, rather than a normal PC, but it would be nice to be able to use an older computer that can handle the workload of a WHS. The biggest issue during my install was the lack of drivers for the RAID controller and NIC. I still have not installed gfx card drivers, it looks like ATI/AMD does not support the Radeon cards on Windows Server.

All replies

  • RTM version - should be RC1

    - DGE-530T NIC - driver appears to be included now - mine downloaded an updated driver last night from MS

    - Radeon - the MS driver for the Radeon series works fine - my Radeon was recognized and driver loaded on installation

    - HPT472 Highpoint drivers appear to be part of RC1 as well. So far everything working fine.
