MCSA 2003 or 2008 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have been in IT support for a couple of years but I have decided to acquire MCSA. I have managed to get a book for 70-290 and have been loaned some discs with CBT as well.

I am now confused if I should amend my plans and go for MCSA 2008 instead?
Please reply as I am not able to make my mind up.

    Many thanks

  • I would always side on the getting certified in the latest technology.  A lot of what you learn is backwards compatible to 2003.  BTW, MCSA does not exist for 2008.  It is now MCITP.  Here are the different MCITP tracks:

  • I do not see any reason for you to get MCSA 2003. The world is moving forward. I also suggest you to start preparing for MCITP: System Administrator.
